All of our staff hold valid CRB checks, all references are verified and all carers receive a thorough induction before working with any clients.

Qualifications

All Care Workers employed by Apex Care undertake a comprehensive Training Induction Programme which includes Policies and Procedures and Safe Moving and Handling. The induction covers all subjects expressed within The Domiciliary Care National Minimum Standard. All newly appointed Care Workers who do not already hold a relevant care qualification will be registered to undertake the relevant NVQ in Care Award (NVQ Level 2 or 3 in care) within 6 months of commencement of employment and complete the full award within three years. All other unqualified Care Staff will be phased into the relevant NVQ in Care over the next two years.

All our Deputy Managers will also undertake a comprehensive training and induction programme. They will also undertake NVQ level 3 and NVQ Level 4 as a minimum requirement.

In addition Apex Care also provides ongoing training for all staff which can include:

  • Protection of Vulnerable Adults Cerebral Palsy
  • Health and Safety Challenging Behaviour
  • Dealing with Complaints Supervisory Management
  • Staff Supervision Time management
  • Recording and Report Writing
  • Moving and Handling Risk Assessment
  • Moving and Handling Risk Assessment for Trainers

Where other specific training needs are identified Apex Care will arrange appropriate training to meet the needs of individual Service Users.

The range of qualifications held by Staff at Apex Care include;

- Vocational qualifications such as NVQ 2,3,4, GNVQ, 2,3,4 and RMA
- B Tec or similar
- Degree course passes

Our Care Manager is registered for the NVQ Level 4 in Management and/or Registered Managers Award. Our Deputy Managers hold NVQ Level 3 Care.

At present approximately 50 % of staff across the group either hold or are registered for the NVQ Level 2 or above in Direct Care.
