Our Staff
Apex Care will recruit staff with the appropriate qualifications, skills, experience, attitude and aptitude to provide care to Service Users, or otherwise meet the needs of the job and maintain such standards as to uphold and enhance the reputation of Apex Care.
All prospective staff will undergo interviews and must demonstrate their ability to meet the requirements of the job. Checks will be made to verify that staff are eligible to work in this country and that references are genuine.
Where an applicant will be working in a position that is deemed to be exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 then they will be required to undergo an Enhanced Disclosure CRB Check and checks against the Protection of Vulnerable Adults Register. Any offer of employment will be subject to a satisfactory outcome of this process.
Key Contract Terms and Conditions of Employment
All Apex Care Care Workers are employed on standard terms and conditions.
Each employee of Apex Care will be issued with a principal statement of main terms of employment. This document meets the requirement of the regulations within Employment Law. The document outlines the employee's entitlements such as holidays, and the systems that Apex Care adopt such as payment of salary, hours of work and the termination of employment etc.
New recruits are issued a job description and a person specification at the time of issue of an application pack. Each document will either state an employees responsibilities and accountabilities including the company's grievance and disciplinary procedure and the personal qualities and attitude required to undertake the work.
Disciplinary Procedure
Apex Care has documented Disciplinary Procedures that summarise the classes of unacceptable conduct and the procedures of verbal and written warnings used in each case. The disciplinary procedure is designed to help and encourage all staff to achieve and maintain standards of conduct, attendance and job performance. This procedure will apply to all staff. The aim is to ensure consistent and fair treatment for all.
All employees have the right of appeal. Nothing in this procedure will in any way detract from or impinge upon an individual employee's statutory employment rights.
Wherever possible unsatisfactory conduct will be dealt with through supervision, training or re-training.
Grievance Procedure
Apex Care has put in place arrangements for handling individual grievances and collective disputes with members of staff. The procedure provides a mechanism through which all staff can have any grievance relating to their employment dealt with.
The purpose of this procedure is to ensure that positive and effective employee relations are developed and maintained. Every effort will be made to seek a resolution to the matter through informal discussions or, failing that, at the lowest possible level under this procedure.
The grievance procedure also provides for appeals against any disciplinary action taken.
Annual Appraisals
Performance appraisals and training reviews are vital in the pursuit of the provision of good quality care and service delivery. Apex Care believes that they are essential in promoting the development and performance standards of all Staff and their overall job satisfaction and enables them to improve their professional skills and personal contributions to Apex Care Aims & Objectives.
Appraisals will take place annually and training courses will be reviewed on a regular basis and all staff will undergo a formal review of job performance every 12 months and work performance will be assessed.
The results will be placed on file and form the basis of assessment for future training requirements, job rewards or continuance of employment.
